Donald John Trump was born on the 14th of June, 1946 in New York, to Fred and Elizabeth Trump. At the age of 13 he left home to attend the New York Military Academy. During his time at the New York Military Academy he began to work at Fred Trump’s company Elizabeth Trump and Son.

After graduation from the New York Military Academy in 1964, Trump attended Fordham University and later the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, during this time Trump received 4 deferments from military service due to his studies.

Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, at which point Trump became eligible for military service. In October 1968 Trump received an additional deferment (Class 1.Y) from military service due to medical conditions.

In 1972 Trump became the owner of Elizabeth Trump and Son and renames it The Trump Organisation.

Trump married Ivana Zelnickova Winklmayr in 1977, with whom he had three children; Donald J Trump Jr (1977), Ivanka Marie Trump (1981) and Eric Frederic Trump (1984). In 1990 Trump separated from Ivana, eventually divorcing in 1992.

Trump married Marla Maples in 1993, with whom he had on child; Tiffany Trump (1993). Trump divorced Marla in 1999.

In 2004 The Apprentice premiered, which he starred in for 14 seasons.

In 2004 Trump married Melania Knass, with whom he had Barron Trump (2006)

In June 2015 Announces his bid for the U.S. presidency as a Republican, on the 26th May 2016 Trump’s Republican delegate count passed 1,237 – the number required to become presumptive Republican nominee for President of the US. This was confirmed on the 7th of June 2016 when Trump won 36 states

In June 2016 Trump launched his presidential campaign and on the 9th November Trump became the projected winner of the US elections. In December the electors of the Electoral College met and formally voted for the President and Vice President, selecting Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Trump received 304 electoral votes and Clinton received 227 electoral votes

On 20th January 2017 Trump was inaugurated and became the 45th President of the United States
