Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frederic Macron was born on the 21st December 1977 in Amiens, France. Macron is a French politician, senior civil servant, and former investment banker. Macron worked as an Inspector of Finances in the Inspectorate General of Finances (IGF) between 2004 and 2008. Macron paid €50,000 to buy his way out of his government contract to join Rothschild & Cie Banque.
Macron was a deputy secretary-general under Francois Hollande’s first government in 2012, before being appointed Minister of Economy, industry and Digital Affairs in 2014. Macron resigned in August 2016, in order to launch a bid in the 2017 presidential election.
In November 2016, Macron declared that he would run for En Marche! a political party he founded in April 2016.

Emmanuel Macron received 24.01% of the vote in the first round, which placed him first, followed by Marine Le Pen on 21.30%. The two candidates then entered the run-off election on the 7th may 2017.
On the 7th May Emmanuel Macron got 66.10% of the vote and will on the 14th May become the 25th President of France and the youngest French Head of State since Napolean Bonaparte.
