The FBI raided Donald Trump’s campaign chief Paul Manafort’s home on July 26 as part of their probe into Russian efforts to influence the 2016 US Presidential election.

“FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort’s residences,” a Manafort spokesman said in a statement. “Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well.”

The raid took place the day after Manafort appeared in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

“FBI agents working with” special counsel Robert Mueller “departed the home with various records,” according to the Washington Post.

NBC News reported the search “is tied to the intense investigation” into Manafort’s “business dealings and financial relationships both in the U.S. and abroad.”

Manafort has faced significant pressure since it was revealed that he attended a meeting with Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya at Trump Tower last year along with Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner. Trump Jnr accepted the meeting after being promised incriminating information on Hillary Clinton as part of “Russia and its government’s support” for his father’s campaign, according to emails he released.
