Trump gives speech in Pensacola, Florida supporting Roy Moore December 8, 2017

Trump was in Pensacola, Florida, on Friday December 8, 2017 to rally support in advance of the Alabama special election between Roy Moore and Doug Jones on December 12, 2017.

Moore faces a series of allegations of engaging and encouraging relationship with teenage girls when he was in his 30s. Trump has formally endorsed Moore but he gave the speech in Pesnsacola rather than Alabama as the White House had previously stated that Trump wouldn’t be going to Alabama to campaign. Pensacola is 25 miles from the Alabama border.

Trump’s speech was a Trump special. I have picked out some of the most eye-catching lines. They’re below.

I can think of no better Christmas present for the American people than giving you a massive tax cut. That is what’s happening

1. “There’s been no first year like this, or at least just about no; I think the answer is no, but I have to be very accurate because of the fake news back there.”

3. “We’re going to speak the plain truth, and really the truth that you just want to hear – you have to hear. They don’t want to hear.”

4. “Did you see all the corrections the media has been making. They’re saying sorry – they’ve been doing that all year. They never apologize.”

Trump says the media is saying sorry and then follows it up with “They never apologize.”

Trump was not correct on this. On September 1, 2017 the Department of Justice said “Both FBI and NSD [Department of Justice’s National Security Division] confirm that they have no records related to wiretaps as described by the March 4, 2017 tweets,” Awakeposttruth – Trump accuses Obama of wiretapping
